Giving Back: Supporting the Next Generation of Leaders

two brothers painting community support boy scouts

Giving back has always been a core part of who we are—not just as a company, but as individuals deeply connected to our community. One organization we are especially proud to support is The Boy Scouts of America, a group dedicated to fostering character, leadership, and service in young people. This commitment aligns perfectly with our mission and values, making it a cause that resonates strongly within our team.

The Lasting Impact of Scouting and Leadership

Our own Dan, an Eagle Scout, exemplifies the impact of Scouting. Achieving the highest rank in Scouting is no small feat; it reflects years of dedication, learning, and service. Dan’s experience helped shape the leader he is today, demonstrating why programs like this matter so much.

Supporting Troop 1 Wakefield’s Historic Cabin Repairs

Recently, we had the privilege of supporting Boy Scout Troop 1 Wakefield with a donation toward their cabin repairs. This contribution will help update windows and replace the wood siding on their historic cabin, originally rebuilt in 1960.

A Community Legacy Since 1909

Troop 1 Wakefield, founded in 1909 by RI Senator and SK Town Council member Rowland G. Hazard III, holds a proud title as the longest continuously running troop in the state. Over the years, this troop has helped countless boys discover their potential, with many achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

Empowering the Youth of South Kingstown

As Troop 1 Wakefield celebrates its remarkable legacy, its leaders remain committed to empowering the youth of South Kingstown. This includes Troop 1, for ages 11-17, and the reestablishment of Pack 51, a co-ed program for ages 5-10. Their efforts continue to instill essential life skills, responsibility, and integrity in the next generation.

We’re honored to help fuel their adventures and growth, and we invite you to follow their inspiring journeys on Facebook at Boy Scout Troop 1 Wakefield. If you know any youth who would thrive with this extraordinary experience, they can reach the Scout leaders at Troop1WakefieldBSA@gmail.com.

Thank you, Troop 1 Wakefield, for allowing us to be a small part of your incredible mission. Here’s to the next generation of leaders!

A Letter of Thanks from Boy Scout Troop 1 Wakefield

Dear Two Brothers Painting:

On behalf of Scouting America’s Boy Scout Troop 1 Wakefield, we would like to thank you for your generous donation towards our cabin repairs.

This donation will go towards updating windows and replacing wood siding on the troop’s cabin that was rebuilt in 1960.

Troop 1 Wakefield was established in 1909 by RI Senator and SK Town Council member Rowland G. Hazard III.  He saw scouting as a way to help his younger brother and other boys.  Our troop is the longest continuous running troop in the state.  We have a proud tradition of helping boys realize their potential as leaders, many attaining the highest rank of Eagle Scout.

As the troop celebrates its anniversary, the adult leaders are committed to the youth of South Kingstown through Troop 1 (boys ages 11-17) and the reestablishment of pack 51 (Co-ed ages 5-10).  We invite you to follow the adventures on Facebook.

If you know of any youth who would be interested in growing through adventure, they may reach out to our Scout leaders at Troop1WakefieldBSA@gmail.com

Thank you again for your investment in Troop 1 Wakefield!

Sincerely,

Christine Heart-Skaggs
